How long do you play for in a day?

School days, about 1-3 hours, somenights none cause I'm hanging out with my friends.
Weekends/School breaks, about 3-5 hours a day, ussually in that amount of time I can learn a song or write a song plus its lyrics.

sorry to go off topic, but do you have any tips on writing lyrics? i definitely have planty to be writing about, but i just cant get the lyrics..... and it seems a lot harder when i actually have the pen and paper in hand :?

Sure, just write little bits and peices on one topic, they dont even have to make sense, and just randomly put em into a song. Its hard to say what I do excatly, I just write down whatever. Personally I dont give a damn about what the lyrics are about, just as long as they're there. And only write songs when you really want to, dont force youreslf to 8)
Check out my little story in, "post mindless blaber here", or whatever the topiccs called....I posted it last night, so it should be somewhere on the 1st page.

It pays my bills so I guess the best answer is as much as possible, i.e. When I'm awake.

+1, I wish I could play for that long, but I'm lacking in songs at the moment.

Stick at it Riley and you can achieve anything you want. I am very lucky I can make a living doing what I thoroughly adore but she don't come easy bro. Nevertheless, the world is there for the taking!

Thanks Riley, I appreciate that!

Yeah, I'm still floatin about, just been very busy with band which is always good. The only thing better than thinkin and talkin about it is actually doing it after all.

You are a young pup Riley and you seem very interested in guitar, keep at it and you can go as far as you want!

Cheers,

CC

No probs at all Riley, keep at it and put all your emotion in your finger tips. Talent can be argued about but you can't argue with passion!

it seems i come up with really REALLY good lyrics if im just randomly 'singing' to a random tune or something i just wrote.... unfortunately, when i get a pen i go blank and forget what i just had.... damn i need a tape recorder

One to two hours a day. I just spent 9 days away and really missed having a guitar. But it seemed to be easier when I got back to it this morning. Go figure.

These days... probably an hour or two, but always after midnight or during lunch at work (if I can face the thought of hauling my guitar all that way... usually takes me an hour and a half on public transport). I'm not very happy with the current state of affairs, as it doesn't permit me to work on anything new. Still, I guess it won't always be this way. It would be nice if I could coast on all the practice I put in twenty years ago, but it doesn't work that way! :)
