Btw, one option besides buying a new pickguard, if yours had one of those clear ones, is to simply spraypaint the underside of the pickguard whatever solid color you like. This gives the pickguard a solid color appearance, but the color cannot be scratched off by your pick since it's showing through the clear guard's top.

I did that to my DeArmond M-72:

Extremely easy to do and you don't have to go find a replacement pickguard.
