Great color, it might be Teal but I cant say for sure. Your Charcoal Frost was a beauty also, why did you feel the need to 86 it. Well it still looks like a good trade for everyone

I see alot of metallic in that paint. That would explain the color change in different lighting.
I also have a 1999 MIA Strat, (Purple Metallic) that changes colors in different lighting.
They must have been experimenting with "metallics" that year.
I pulled out the literature from when I ordered mine, and on the color chart for that year they offered "#74 Aqua Marine" on the American Standards. So I'll bet that's your color. :P

Thanks for the info.
I's an extremely hard color to photograph...it comes out blue. The photos I posted were run through Photoshop to match the actual color of it. It's as close as I could get it.
Could you email me a copy of the color cart for that year...maybe scan it?

There really wasn't a reason other than the fact that I love those old blues and greens that Fender made, and I like the maple necks. The Charcoal Frost was beautiful also. Both were great sounding guitars, very little difference in tones; I must admit that the neck on the Charcoal was the SMOOOTHEST neck I ever played; it was that satin nitro that was as smooth as a baby's butt with talcum powder on it
SBLS, currently, there is no woman in my life...I got divorced a year and a half ago after 22 years of marriage, and nothing has piqued my interest yet. Needless to say, it is strange dating after all that time.
Besides, we all know that if having to chose between a guitar and a woman, the guitar would win out

OK, here's what I found.
Color chart for 1999 American Standard Guitars.

Now, you say that your 1999 MIA Strat photographs blue and you fixed it with photoshop to get the correct color?
So the only color on the chart that's close is the Strat pictured in "Aqua Marine".

I finally found out the color of my Strat thanks to Jeff Krause at Fender (Brad, give him a big pat on the back for me). He looked it up by serial number and it's Aqua Marine Metallic...very tough color to photograph well.

I thought you traded for something else, glad to see it was another Stratocaster. I like both of them, your new color (I think Aqua Marine) is one fine looking axe. Hope it sounds as good as it looks. Good Job!!!

The charcoal was gorgeous, no doubt, but it was a tuxedo. Maybe a little subdued. Your new one's a ROCKER!! Let it rip!

I kind of like the look of the maple fretboard too. Don't know why.

Have fun,
