Saga records has just realeased a 3 CD set of Django's music spanning 34-53 and each CD represents an era of his music. It was released to honour his 100th birthday. The set also includes an 80 page biographical booklet and a DVD of Django and Stephane Grappelli, this should be quite the set for fans of Django and a great introduction for people who aren't familiar with this virtuoso who with just 2 functioning fingers could outplay many of today's popular guitarists .

Gonna have to go lookin' for that one on the weekend guitslinger. I doubt that there is one guitarist in the world right now that hasn't been influenced by Reinhardt. Even if they've never heard of him it's a pretty safe bet that someone who has infulenced them was influenced by him.

In support, Les Paul has mentioned him in more than one interview. Seven degrees from D'Jango Reinhardt?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll add that to my list of "Things I Really Can't Live Without"!

guitslinger, do you have any more information on this, or a link? The only thing I could find was a review of what sounds like the same Saga set minus the DVD from 2003:

http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=12067

I'm assuming this new one is a reissue.
