Sometime last night, me and my mum went see Lulo reinhardt at the BPACC. For those that dont know him, hes a very talented, classical player. He had alot of speed to his playing, and he made teh 10 minute songs look easy. He didn't play rythm, for about 90% of the time he was playing amazingly fast solos.

Just thought I'd let you guys know 8)

Glad you could catch him... I saw him play a few months ago in Sydney; we're lucky that he seems to enjoy travelling in Australia! He plays in a very similar style to his grandfather Django Reinhardt. Great gypsy jazz player.

Did he also have his band when you saw him?

He was playing with local musicians... I recognised the percussionist from twenty years ago in the Blue Mountains. He used to give drum workshops, and I was learning congas from him for a while on a beautiful old pair of Gon Bops that I stupidly sold to pay rent when I was at uni... good times... heh. Ah well. It's nice to see some local talent holding their own with overseas acts.

Very cool so see and hear a great who is carrying an immortal's genes around.

And accept vile green envy for your boring climate. In metro Chicago this last week, it's been nice enough to be out in shorts and tee, snowed 4 inches, and each rained, been sunny, overcast, and right now cold with a north wind.

Sounds like a great experience. Mondo answered my question as I was going to ask if there was a relation to Django.
