Of coarse he got what he wanted. Now on this forum, the Gibson forum and a few others people are talking about Yngwie, who would otherwise be fighting about John Mayer, or Kurt Cobain.

Well if you were to ask 100 random people if they've heard of Hendrix or Malmsteen i'll bet only 5% would know of Malmsteen. I couldn't tell you one song that he's ever recorded. Jimi on the other hand is probably the most famous guitarist of all time to this day. It's a shame that Jimi died because the likes of malmsteen wouldn't have ever been noticed.

Malmsteen has always been a tool. He can play real fast, but he can't write a song to save his life. His music is soulless and he has a bigger mouth than John Mayer. Malmsteen also has a serious case of asstone too. The young kids love that stuff though. "The Great Kat" is his female equivalent. Those Neo Classical clowns didn't last very long anyway. Thank god.

Hey Andy, they had that up a long time ago but it was removed. I guess Malmsteen whined about it. I'm gald it's up again.
I love it. "I'm your new god little boys" HaHaHaHaHa. "If I play it any faster your minds would blow up"

At least he make me laugh!

Enjoy

Andy

I saw that clip sometime ago and it made no sense to me. I have an Yngwie instructional DVD from the 80s I believe and he says the day he saw Hendrix died on Swedish tv is what started him playing. He also praises him many times on the tape.

We could not fit Yngwie's ego in a football stadium and in a way it makes him a character I kind of like. Because he is so outrageous and over the top in a Borat kind of a way that I find him hilarious. I have seen him try and say he was a bit influenced by Blackmore but was bored and could play all his songs by the time he was ten. Meanwhile he took so much from him, right down to the leather pants and poses that I dont know whether to puke or laugh.

I have never been able to listen to more than two of his songs in a row yet I must admit that when I saw G3 he totally floored me with his technique. To be honest I would pay to see the guy play live anytime as it is almost not human. The funny thing about that show is that 2 of the encores were Hendrix songs-Little Wing and Voodoo Child which Yngwie sang on. Now to be honest you have 3 of the greatest players in the world on stage yet when it came to soloing over these songs they all seemed to lack the right feel and choice of notes, it was like overkill.

Some years back Guitar World gave him a blindfold test and played about 10 players from Beck to Vai to Gary Moore and he was ripping on everyone. I still remember they played Becks Cause We've Ended as Lovers and he started out saying very good note selection and then started saying how the player was bending everything sharp or flat and not playing in tune- which everyone who listens to Beck knows he does on purpose. Anyway when they told him it was Jeff Beck he started ranting "has he gone deaf" the guitar is supposed to be played like all gliscendo instruments and that was awful.lol Well lets just say that was one of his kinder critiques.

The next issue where everyone writes in must of been five pages deep with everyone going off on him, and GW had this big cartoon with Yngwie on a cloud and God playing guitar behind him and he is saying you are not playing correct. I still have this issue somewhere and it is just classic.

I really dont think we have to defend Jimi as his album is #1 on the charts 40 years after his death, and he will be listened to 40 years from now. I cant say the same for Yngwie

yeah but atleast with The Great Kat it's all theatrics.

Went to see her when I was a kid. Not because I like Neo Classical Metal, I just wanted to see some scantily clad bird jumping around onstage with a guitar. I even got to talk a little bit to her, she was one of the warmest most endearing people I've ever met. The mouth is very much a front for the public.

What a woman, she can even thrash on a Burns.

I like Kat, meeoow.

It doesn't sound in the posted clip like he was talking about Hendrix's music, it sounds like he was talking about the clip he saw of Hendrix smashing the guitar, "There was no music, just noise."

Sounds like he's talking about the news clip he saw.
