We ate at a nice Cajun restaurant tonight, where I had escargots and an incredible fried eggplant stuffed with shrimp and scallops. It was so good I almost fell asleep while I was eating it.

Sounds good.

Last night I memorized all of the modes on the guitar, so I'm now moving onto all of the exotic scales. Should be fun.

Please I dont have a clue what modes and scales are, or why there used or why they're what they are? Please someone tell me!!

Modes are alternations of scales that are used when the notes of the natural scale clash with the chords that are being played over. Its easier to research them then for me to explain them here.

Alight, what should I do?

This site:

http://home.scarlet.be/guido.vanspranghe/theory2.html

or buy this book:

http://www.cvls.com/guitar_scales.html

EDIT: The book is more helpful.

Thanks ma, I notice its part 2, whats part 1 about?

This:

Thanks man, i'll have a look at that tonight 8)

Anyway, positive for the day....I've only been awake for an hour, so I made my best coffee 8)

You're welcome. I'd also recommend getting that book at some point. It's much easier to understand.

Only two more days of school left, that's positive.

It's also positive that I'm going to make the biggest collection of qoutes ever on the Fender Forum!

Positively adding another quote.

I had a sweet jam session with a whole new band.
I played Bass.
It was VERY cool, it went on for 4 hours straight.
Always a greater feeling playing rather than talking about playing :D

Amen on being able to play and enjoy music, Mike.

Coming home after work to hearth and wife and dog and guitars, that's enough for a big honkin' smile here.

"You cannot help the poor
by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak
by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity
by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up
by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man
by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage
by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently
by doing for them,
what they could and
should do for themselves."
