Today I picked up a copy of Guitar Afficinado and was surprised to find out that Jeff Bridges is a long time guitarist and quite the country picker. He frequently jams with Kris Kristofferson and other musical legends. They only touched on his collection however that includes a relic'd Tele,an early 60s Danelectro,an SJ-45,a relic'd Gretsch Country Gent,a Gibson Blueshawk and a Taylor acoustic.Apparently he rubs elbows with the creme de la creme of country music and hosts some pretty good jams.

I always find it interesting when someone who is famous for something else turns out to be a great guitar player. It also makes me feel like everyone in the world is a player except me. I just have to deal with my insecurities as a player on my own though. I'm sure that these people didn't start playing 2 years ago either but it just feels that way.

Jeff said in the interview that he and Beau learned to play in the 50s on an old Goya Classical that their father Lloyd had.I had real insecurities after seeing Marty Stuart and his side kick Ken playing last fall,I felt like selling all mine they were that good.

Did not know that about Jeff who I always have been a fan of. I wonder if he was recorded in the movie. Beau never got to the level Jeff did as an actor but has anyone ever seen The Indecent a really heavy and realistic movie from the 60s that took place on a train. Hoeycow I would believe you are doing just fine and everything will come together pretty soon. I feel as though you want to play some real advanced stuff right now.lol It will come, two years is not as long as you think on something that is a life's journey.

I didn't know that he collected, but he does write and play pretty decent guitar and piano.

Well thank you Straycat for the encouragement. I do tend to get a little ahead of myself when it comes to playing but at least now I try and think of how many years someone has been playing when they blow me out of the water. In time I'll get there.

I wasn't because I didn't watch any of it ( ). HOWEVER, my wife is incredibly annoyed by his false teeth he always seems to be fiddling with, and the associated slurring as he "talks so they don't fall out".

I didn't intend to watch it, but I was visiting the folks and was sort of subjected to it...

I knew about Seagal, his collection is mostly Strats he apparently has a huge number of them most in mint or near mint condition.I saw a video of him on Youtube quite a while ago and he's a very good blues/rock player.
