I wanted to toss my $.02 worth in here because for along time I thought about trying to get in to radio as a DJ...I even auditioned for a broadcasting school and passed but had to say no once I saw the tuition.

Ok...call me a freak here but I was always a huge fan of the old sitcom, "WKRP in Cincinnati" and I really see myself as being somewhere between a "Dr. Johnny Fever" and "Venus Flytrap". Also being a native Clevelander, I have to admit that I'm an old fan of "The Goul" (although that's TV). I could really see myself with candles and incense burning in the studio and a big Chinese gong and wind chimes behind me, doing a late night show with sort of a psychedelic theme or groove to it.

So with that, the red light is on...let's all light up something good to smoke, pour yourself a nice warm cup of chamomile tea and crank up those old lava lamps as "Dr. Jimmy" gives you an hour (or so) of commercial free listening with;

Animals (the complete CD) - Pink Floyd
Blinded By The Light - Manfred Mann
Europa (the live version) - Santana
Third Stone From the Sun - Jimi Hendrix
Madman Across The Water - Elton John
Maggot Brain - Funkadelic

"As someone once said, if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with...peace to all my brothers and sisters out there in radio land and a good night to all. May your freakiest and funkiest dreams all come true for you".

Without any doubt, the 1st song played, quite loudly, when the station goes on the air each day, as well as when signing off, must be, The star spangled banner by Jimmi Hendrix. Image Accept no substitutes :!:

Wow...I didn't know there were any radio stations left in this country that actually signed off at the end of the day any more. I think all of them here in Cleveland, both AM and FM are all just 24 hours...but then I don't really listen to radio that much any more, especially late at night.

My first five (granted the radio station would allow it) would be:

1. Rush--Tom Sawyer
2. Iron Maiden--Rime of the Ancient Mariner
3. Metallica--Four Horseman
4. Pink Floyd--Animals
5. Ozzy Osbourne--You Can't Kill Rock N Roll
