Who here is a fan of the band? Levon Helm, rick danko, robbie robertson, Richard Manuel, And Garth Hudson! There all incredible musicans! And almost all canadians to. I recently discovered that I owned there greatest hits album around the same time my friend suggested them! I've been listening non stop sense then! They have so many good tunes! My favorites are: criple creek, ophilia, stage fright and the shape I'm in. And there harmonies amaze me to no end! I think sense then Rick Danko has become my favorite bass player/ singer. They were all so talented!

So any fans?

Good points Will...definitely a lot of talent in The Band. One of my favorites is The Weight. Awesome song to play on a Telecaster.

Check out the DVD "The Last Waltz". Lots of artist join the band for their last live performance as The Band.

My favorite part is when EC breaks his strap bottom during a solo. Watch how fast Robbie hears whats happening and takes over.

Yes, long time fan here.

My favorite Band album would be Music From Big Pink. And I own a copy of the Last Waltz DVD.

I picked up a copy of Last Waltz for $5 at a Walmart checkout of all places. Stage Fright is my favourite Band song but many others are close, Robbie Robertson is another guitarist who hasn't received the adulation he deserves. They were certainly a great group as each member was a highly competent musician in his own right but it was when they became a unit was where the whole thing gelled into one of the best rock bands to come out of the 60s.

a fan that doesn't own any of their records but I wouldn't change the station if one of their songs is playing :)

i have gushed my adoration here before. They are my all time favorite Canadian band (only Levon helm is an American)

Levon and his 12 piece band are coming here later this year, gonna be great.

you should look at our thread asking for a Robbie Robertson signature model on the Custom Shop forum.

Love the Last Waltz disc, great songs throughout.

When Clapton's strap comes off it is pretty amazing how Robbie just takes over without missing a beat. I liked the songs but had no idea how really good they were til I got that disc.

We play "The Weight" now in our band, one of my favorites to play. When we get the harmonies right it's pretty cool.

In 2000, Rhino did a remaster that was well done and expanded greatly in overall music content. If you don't have the 2000 Rhino remaster, then run out and get it.

just saw some of the Last Waltz over the weekend on the PalladiaHD channel (785 for NY Cablevision). They put on a lot of great stuff, Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scotts, and the Strat Pack have been on a few times. Will try to catch The Last Waltz again, tons of great music!
