So Lately I been getting a lot of crap from the lead singer and ryhthm guitarist in our band, and quite frankly I'm ready to quit.

I'm the best musician in the band, but I really want to work on getting better alone too. If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't have a band in the first place.

Anyways, whats the best way to tell the singer in the band that I'm tired and I want outs?

The Cartman way is always good but I think that you have to pick something ridiculous like some guitar picks and say "these are mine and they're going with me!" and then you give a drum cymbal a Karate Kid kick like Jack Black in School of Rock. Lastly you have to have some really cool quote to say on your way out so that they can dwell in your awesomeness when you slam the door behind you.

I've always been a fan of the straight forward no back doors approach.Tell them up front that you're tired of all the animosity and bull5hit.

+1

Honesty worked for me (but then I pratice martial arts so I can be as honest as I like without fear of leaving the scene with a fat lip and my rig up my arse!). :D

Enjoy!

Say something like this:

"Guys, I quit!" "Eat 5h1t!!!"

Cut through the chase, be direct. Unless you really want to work things out, then it should be like this:

"Guys I have been thinking about this for a while and I think you will need to find another lead guitarist. I have some solo stuff I want to work on. I will be willing to play a few more shows until you find one, but after that you are on your own."

Your choice, sorry things did not work out. Good luck on your future endeavors. Things happen for a reason.

tell them "your fired", I've always wanted to do that when ever a band that I was in wasn't working out, if you do let me know how or if it works out.

You could secretly gut the rehearsal area of any and all items of value, and write "I Quit" on the walls in your own feces!! That should get the point across.

or less reasonably you could calmly tell them you don't think the band is a good fit any longer. depending on how that goes, you may or may not decide to air any grievances. (don't do that out of spite though, only if you feel it could lead to an amicable resolution to your issues, obviously how you present these grievances would be rather important.)

Be up front about it, best not to burn bridges because you never no when crossing my be needed one way or the other.

But seriously--do like you posted.

Be honest, but don't be cruel.

Tell 'em you were bad so your mom isn't letting you play with your guitar anymore :(

Seriously, being up front is the best approach. Just tell them why in a diplomatic way and let it be that. Now if they want to discuss it and you haven't totally had it, fair game at that point to air your gripes. If they still don't get it or won't change, well, then they won't and you walk.

If they are your friends then honesty up-front is always the best policy.

If you don't ever want to see them again leave the stage mid song!

My line: "The grief now outweighs the enjoyment and has been doing it for a while now. Unless you guys have a better reason for me to stay under these circumstances, I'm packing it in but I wish you all well." Let them take it from there, one way or the other. If they promise change, fine. If it slides back into the same old routine, you mention that and reiterate my line.
