RIP Fender! Thanks for your contribution to the world!

I am just getting to know your guitars. Thanks for giving me a passion for guitars again.

How right you are Hoeycow, the fact that the design and layout of the Strat has remained unchanged for 56 yrs goes to show that he acheived perfection when he first released it.Even the Les Paul received changes and upgrades since it's initial appearance especially with the bridge and tailpiece assembly. So the Strat and Tele were about the only guitars of that vintage that were perfect from the get go.

The Strat has undergone many changes and upgrades through the years, some good, some not so good. My 72 is a prime example. Necks bridges, pickups and even pickgards have changed. Even the body contour has changed over the years.

OOps I stand corrected,I guess that there have been more changes to the Strat than I realized,it's just that aesthetically it appears realitively unchanged and it just slipped my mind about the truss rod ,No. of screws in pickguard and other changes, but I'd still settle for a 54 lol.

Actually, I like the newer ones better. They're way more consistent. I've played a lot of vintage dogs as well as real gems.
