im going to see them at the dunkin doughnuts center on April 19 (the guy that sent my dad tickets had the wrong show) and i cant wait! William DuVall, while hes no Layne Staley, fills the role of singer quite well and the new album rocks!

Speaking of Alice In Chains, has anyone been watching original Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr on VH1's Sober House? Man, that dude has some serious anger management issues, not to mention the addiction issues that put him there, and in Celebrity Rehab, in the first place. Many people recognize Layne Staley as being one of the tragic casualties of this band, but Mike Starr is often forgotten about, and watching him on Sober House is a bit of a downer... :?

fell asleep, woke up at 7, got to Kinetic (after party) about 10 after 10, too late to go across to the Aragon, couples trickle-ing out this early the crowd out at 11 every one loved it, get in Kinetic free with the Aragon wristband Frankie and John came over at 11 after 11, I left with them got here about 12 after 12, sorry I missed them, sausage fest, back in the day it would be more even, sometimes more ladies, what happened?

To be honest, I dont really like AIC. I mean, I respect em an all, but I just dont like there sound. Thats probably the only grunge band I dont like, although aparently according to "the book of metal" there not grunge.

I watch that show all the time and it's sad to see what he's become, but at the same time, you have to realize these "Celebrities" put this upon themselves. I work in Nursing and those anger mgt issues are a result of his coming out of heroin withdrawal. I've seen it firsthand and trust me, it's not pretty at all. A lot of those addicts will pull every trick in the book to get you to give them their meds before they're scheduled to have them.

I also think part of the reason why Mike is so angry is because in addition to the withdrawal, is the fact that he got kicked out of AIC for his heroin/addiction issues while Layne was not kicked out...Most likely because Layne was more of a contributor to the song writing process than Mike, or at least thats what the credits for Facelift pretty much state...

if you havnt, check out the dirt album..... facelift is ok but nowhere near dirt so it may change your mind..... and i think they are grunge because 1) their songs. listen to the words and you'll recognize some "common themes" of grunge and 2) they're from seattle. they're going to be called grunge no matter what they play. they could play flippin justin beiber covers and still be called grunge

Layne was the singer on every Alice In Chains CD/record other than the one that came out in 2009...

And once again, GRUNGE 99% OF THE TIME HAS NOTHING WITH HOW A BAND SOUNDS, BUT EVERYTHING TO DO WITH WHERE THEY ARE FROM.

The hair on the back of my neck stands up every time I hear 'Dem Bones, especially considering what transpired a few years later. Also check out Jar of Flies. Amazing album ...

The acoustic CD-EP "Sap" also has some cool stuff on it as well...

Dirt has probably the coolest riff ive ever heard.... the vocals during the chorus of Dam That River are SICK, i love how it sounds almost like its live

Ahh, I'm not talking about the medias opinion on grunge music, but the real term; dirty, heavily distorted, sloppy self conflicted lyrics type songs.....
