The idea is to make a super versatile guitar to cover some songs that aren't for my Gibson SG. Being a singer/second guitarist I'm after a wide range of sounds but they don't need to be excactly like Jimi's or Page's, good is good enough (the lead guitarist is the sound snob in the band).
I was thinking about a maple 24" of 24,75" scale guitar with strat style pickups or Duncan p-rails which have been raved for their versatile mix of Strat and P-90 sounds. Even addinga piezo in the bridge has crossed my mind.
Would it make more sense to start with the Jagmaster that has less economical risk involved or Classic Player Jag that would have a lot of buttons to rewire for controlling the coil taps of the p-rails. The jag also has a tune-o-matic so it might take Fishman Powerbridge piezo without extensive modding too?

How about this as an option?

Easier to mod, if necessary.
