Nice review and nice guitar. I'd been thinking about a hybrid and considering trying something high end like Taylor. Carvin also makes a hybrid but you usually can't try them because they're mail order only. (Unless they happen to have a demo model in the Hollywood store.) Based on what you're saying, I'll be trying a Fender and possibly saving some money in the process.
