Ok.. So, I'm in trouble. I couldn't resist.

I saw this guitar yesterday at my local Sam Ash. I've been looking for a good acoustic/electric guitar to play my leads on when we play our HOB shows. Most of the time we play there, we play acoustic sets. I just wanted to be able to play the higher frets easier.

I ran across this barely used Fender Acoustasonic on sale for $500. I'd never really seen one of these in any of the stores that I can remember. First time I'd ever held one.

I played it and there was buzzing from the 12th fret up. I had a feeling it could be fixed, and brought it to the attention to the tech at the store. He took it to his shop and gave it a good setup, adjusted the neck, and they threw in a case (not the one in the pic, but it was a nice gesture to at least offer me a softy). He dialed it in perfectly.

This is by far the best acoustic/electric I've ever bought!! Freaking AMAZING!! I love this guitar a LOT!! This is exactly why Fender is king. It fits me like a glove and delivers an unbelievable acoustic/electric tone, the action is as low as my electrics. I couldn't be happier. I'm selling my Ovation ASAP. This guitar is perfect for me and my style.

Once again. Thank you very much Fender. I can't wait to blow the roof off our next show!

That is awesome looking, and I'll bet it does play sweet. It's great when you find one that just fits.

The strat style neck makes all things great, same on my Montara but not quite as thin of a body on it.

Nice 8)

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen on of those before, but since I'm new to the guitar scene it's not surprising. Nice axe though.

Very Nice, I have always been intrigued by those. Wish our stores had at least one to try out!

I was looking at one of those about a month ago, but it was $600 and the Guy didn't want to come down any so I passed.
they sell for about $450 on ebay, plus shipping.
They also come in a nice pewter and a darker red.
Cool guitar, I'm still looking for one.[/list]

This guitar is great. I played with it last night. Did some direct recording with it just messing around. I love how it sounds more natural than a heavily preamped sound. I always struggled a little bit with my Ovation. It's still a great guitar, but it does have a more processed sound to it. When you kick in the eq the trebles are tinny. Cut off the eq, and it's REALLY midrange heavy. So it was hard to find a happy medium, but not impossible..

This guitar takes two 9-volts. It's really smooth and balanced. There are adjustments for every 2 strings to boost or cut in the PCB. If you feel like your D and G strings are coming through too strong, you can cut some of the signal for just those 2 strings. The tone knob works just like an electric guitar. It rolls back the highs. The feel of it is just like an electric guitar. You forget you're holding an acoustic really fast.

Beautiful sound, nice feel. At $500, I had to pull the trigger on this one.
