I have one...........great tone and I love it. A little harder to play than a strat, but then it might be because of the neck. I'm used to C necks.

Also.....it has vintage frets which are lower.

I agree with Syeklops -- not as easy to play as a Strat, but it has a great tone. It's pretty crisp in that the small amount of hollow space doesn't add tons of depth. You get something akin to a bright solid body sound with less sustain.

I find that I use mine for finger picking a lot. Where I might reach for an acoustic, I'll grab the 72 RI, set a low volume, using the vintage setting on my SCXD. It doesn't sound like an acoustic, but it sounds like it fits playing an acoustic song.

I love that guitar and have always spoken highly of the Classic Series being the owner of a 72 Custom RI.

If you want it then get her, you only live once and there are some fine examples to be had.

I played one and I like the feel quite a bit the guitar is well balanced and light weight too.....I will have to noodle this for a while as they are expensive and not in the budget at the moment............dreaming is fun too!

In a prior reply I stated I bought my MIM 72 REISSUE under the the fog of beer not knowing that it had only 21 frets & the frets were not jumbo size,(because I didn't even pick it up & play it, bought where it stood) someday maybe I'll get larger frets & strech a little harder for that higher note, other then that I love the blonde wood, the 2 humbucker pups & the low weighet of it all, it fits well in my bank of guitars.

I recently played one through a Blues Jr. and I really liked the way it played and the sound. I just felt "right" if you know what I mean...
