Fans at more adult performances like Brian Setzer burn me too. Not all of them ... just the idiots who need to be on their feet and dancing around for just about every song. You can't see through them and because they're moving around so much, can't angle yourself to see past them. So you've just paid $200 (self + GF) to see the backs of three middle aged out of control women for two hours.

I've gone to several other not-for-kids but lively concerts as well and same deal -- some jack&sses just refuse to sit down. They're "excited" as one put it in reaming out someone else for asking them nicely if they could please sit.

Example: two women and three guys who're so excited that they have to dance to each number ... even the slow ones ... at a James Taylor concert????? If they're that excitable, maybe they need to see their doctor, but I'm sick and tired of them sitting in front of me and the ushers don't do a thing. I'm not the only one with this complaint either.

The fact is that if you need to be on your feet the whole time, most venues set aside an area on the floor for exactly that purpose. Call it a pit or whaterver you want. That's what it's there for. So if you need to be up dancing around except maybe for the band's "signature" number (where it's expected that many will be up), then please, please buy tickets in the pit. The venue will NOT give me my money back just because all I could see for two hours was your butt waving in my face.

whats worse is when some moron is smokin blunts and cigars the WHOLE CONCERT and it takes the ushers an hour to even take notice and then finally kick the guy at the last 5 songs

I've never seen anyone getting in any sort of trouble for smoking at concerts. And it is illegal to smoke anything indoors where I live

I do recall that happening in quasi-concerts in bars though, back when bars allowed smoking. Sometimes a couple party house type bars where I grew up would have a big local name and an emerging/has-been recording artist. Although it was bar, people just sat and listened (no dancing, no pool, no juke box in the other room) ... but since it was a bar, you could smoke. Public venues, like the city auditorium and the War Memorial never allowed it.

Speaking of people dancing at concerts,a couple of years ago my wife and I went to see the Proclaimers at a local venue. The large club was stand up only-no chairs at all, most attendees were baby boomers but there was a couple there in their mid twenties, they were all over each other during the entire show only 15 ft. from the stage providing a hilarious side show for all those attending and the band as well. They did everything but consumate their relationship right there on the floor.

Nothing like a little "side show" go go along with the main event

I am suprized no one mentioned Eddie Vedder, not that hes important anymore.I meant to anyone other than himself.Makes me wonder if Kurt Cobain didnt take himself so serious ,maybe he would still be around.

I am not sure if I am answering this right but in my mind their are so many artist and fans that take them selves way to seriously. And I am sure with my list I will get some dreadful responses. Take in mind I appreciate these artists my self but I think they are overly worshiped. and in some cases overly hyped they are good and have given there respective contributions but they also have flaws or limitations to their art or style.
Hendrix the Fans mainly
clapton the fans mainly
van halen
john mayer
john Mclaughlin the fans mainly
SLash
joe satriani the fans mainly
The Edge
BB king the fans mainly
Zach Wylde
Metallica Both Guitarist
Kerry King
Dave Mathews
Tom Morrello the fans mainly I hear he works hard on evolving his style..
these are just a few I can think of
