Reading that topic about the bad taste Guitar World article made me think about stuff I haven't thought about in a while. Bands and artists that take everything they do too seriously, as do their fans. It really bugs me, after all, to quote on of my favorite bands, IT'S ONLY ROCK N' ROLL! I'm talking about the guys who send death threats to people who don't like the band or the fans who get really upset and do dumb things if a member leaves or is replaced. Or the death metal fans who burn churches for instance.

Trouble is sometimes the band itself seems to encourage this type of behavior themselves, often indirectly by sticking their fingers in their ears or even being ambiguous.

The biggest offenders in this: many metal bands of the harder variety, ICP and related artists.

The singer from the killers takes himself far to seriously, the dude has major dillusions of grandure.

I would have to say anyone who's ever seen two guys argue over Megadeath and Metallica until punches are thrown would agree that those two sets of fans and truly fanatical. Actually most metal fans are over the top IMO but anyone who has that much passion for something is cool with me. I also find most brooding emo bands and their fans to be very serious. I simply can't take anyone in skinny jeans with their hair flopped over their eyes seriously though.

The Jonas Bros.And one band in particular that I won't mention because too many fans have a rabid devotion.Getting back to the Jonas Bros. ,they seem to think that are serious musicians and bona fide rock stars because pre pubescent girls get weak kneed over them.

I'll make it clear that I hate the Jonas brothers... But! I would rather they be in the spot light then say.... JUSTIN BIEBER! I'm pretty sure the Jonas brothers are "so last year" right now wich is cool but this Justin bieber fellow...
