I started using Fender 150 SLs 8-38 in 1972 and have used 8-38s ever since as I do extreme bends and where I have small hands and have since developed arthritis in them it's a necessity to use super light strings. I have used D'Addarios for at least 25 yrs and find that they stay brighter longer and don't go out of tune after extreme bending or whammy use.

after holding that G&L Comanche I thought about trying a set of strings all plain then thought that may be impossible, going to search now but if it is possible that Comanche would scream in the studio.

9's or 10's depending on my mood. I tried 11'-52's on my Tele once and it felt like I was strumming a steel cable.

I'm keeping it simple with Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys (.10 - .46) on my Strat, Tele and Jazzmaster. 8)

9s for my Strat, 10s for the Jazzmaster once it's here.

I used to throw 12s on my Strat. I don't recommend that. You really have to fight with 'em to do anything really. And it didn't help that the action was slightly out of whack either.

SRV used 13s on his Strat and I just don't see how the man played that guitar like he did.

EB 10s on the SSS Strat and EB 9s on the HSS. The Teles all have EB 10s and the SG has EB 9s.

The Yamaha AES 1500 (semi-hollow) - I've always used D'Addario 10s and I have D'Addario 9s on the DeArmond (Guild) M75T.

I've experimented with 8.5 but they're too light even for my light touch and 11s (except on my acoustics) are a bit stiff for me. The only thing electric I use 11s on (D'Addario chromes) is an older Guild X150D archtop. But that's not made for string bending anyway.

Note to Riley re; string gauge. Riley,if you have a problem with dystonia the heavy gauge strings would have a detrimental effect on your playing. You should at least give lighter gauge strings a try.Is there a reason why you use such a heavy string?

Gauge varies for me.
I play ; 7 strings, Fretless guitar with chrome flat wounds, Baritone, lights and heavy.
Variety is the spice of life. It sounds corny but variables might suprise you.
Sometimes you don't know until you try.
I favor D'Addarios, but like to use Ernie Ball (slinky and not slinky at all, and DR coated.
