Well, the girlfriend loves American Idol, so I just saw it again. I was already in a bad mood, because my knee is killing me. Too, much genuflecting down at Our Lady of Perpetual Motion?

Nah. Lots of ladder work today. Anywayz, what a vain and silly society we live in. The two half-time acts were enough to despair the Good Humor man. The names of the two female acts escape me. The first was a rocker who's guitar hung like a prop until she squeezed of a short, generic lead.
Then, back for the final unremarkable verse. This from someone called 'one of rock's pioneers...'.

Then the 2nd act. A grown woman jumping around, half dressed and RAPPING in the sort of tone, that, wrong as it may be, has certainly led to domestic violence, in some cases. Imagine an amalgam of Lady Gaga
and that 'Pink' lady. The one who's always pictured with her yap hanging open. 35 and still in junior high. As though, acting like a middle-aged child,
precosious and in your face, is art. There is so much to dislike in popular music. So much of it is just more talking. Like, if you paid to own a commercial announcment you heard. It's information, not art.

The odd thing is, the kids in the competition are WAY more talented than the working, millionaire stars that are featured. Don't seem right.

End of lecture...

I agree. Somehow I got hooked on American Idol and there's usually one or two contestants I actually enjoy listening to. This year I'm rooting for Casey and Crystal, so far they've been to only ones to consistently play music I really like.

The first person was Orianthi, Michael Jackson's guitarist.

I don't know who the second was, but she made me want to cry and listen to SRV for the rest of the day. Crappy pop music has that effect on me...

Okay I have to believe I actually heard the worst song in the history of music. That girl Kesha or however you spell it takes the cake for that Blah Blah Blah that sounds like a child from Pre K would of wrote. I actually wanted to kick in my TV screen when I heard applause when it was over instead of people ripping out there chair and throwing it at her.

The way that kid murdered Under my Thumb last night and did not get the boot has me thinking about even tuning in again this year. Next to him a 13 year old Donny Osmond sounds like Ozzy.

Yeah, Texas. That Crystal reminds me of Tracy Nelson of Mother Earth, from way back in the Messazoic period. Great singer, both of 'em.

Could you imagine any of the hacks of pop music, stepping under a spot light, with just a guitar? They have to dance in the nude, 'cause there's nothing really there.

The best part of American Idol is all the train wreck performances in the beginning of the season. Seriously funny stuff.

I'm going with the girl from Cape Cod to win it. (Siobhan)

David Cook was boring, wish he got voted off again...lol.

Orianthi is a better guitarist than a singer. (pre-fab pop?)

Baby GaGa was a hoot....hope she's not serious?

That Kesha chick was THE worst song and performance I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. I'd rather watch the Black Eyed Peas and I can't stand them either!

Why does (judge) Kara Dioguardi always look like she smells something when she gets into a performance?

I missed it. I was playing guitar. I usually have to watch it when my wife is home. She was out. Glad I didn't miss anything. it's all kinda fixed anyway. Producers only pick average singers with some stupid back story. All the really good singers with no drama in their life get sent home. That's why there has not been a singer near as good as Kelly. Carrie Underwood was close (and mega hot!!)
