What do you think about games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc.? I've played Guitar Hero 2 at a friends house, and I didn't like it. I guess since I actually play guitar, it just seems too unrealistic to me. I mean, the guitar has for buttons on the neck and a little switch on the body. To me, it just seems dumb, but that's my opinion. What's yours?

i know what you mean... I played Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess on the Wii, and it wasn't realistic at all! You could only swing the sword a couple of ways, it made metal on metal sounds when it struck stone, and I could stand two feet away from an explosion that would completely destroy a rock three times taller than me and not get hurt.

Lighten up, Francis. It's just a video game. It's not a guitar, it has nothing to do with playing the guitar, it doesn't prevent anybody from playing the guitar.

I've never played Guitar Hero...probably never will. I've got thousands of dollars worth of gear I'd rather play with for real.

I don't much care for the games. I can't stand it when people think they can play guitar because they can play one of them.

I've never met someone who thought playing Guitar Hero made them a guitar player. Talk about delusional!

I have found however, that it has helped my son with timing and coordination between both hands. He is working hard at both real and virtual....

Last year my 13 year old son said he thought it was fun so for Christmas I bought him a Squier, Vox Pathfinder amp and have been giving him lessons since.

Guitar Hero is for poseurs. South Park had a good episode about Guitar Hero recently.
