Hey guys, just popped in to wish you all a Happy St Patrick's day directly from Ireland herself.

Bring on the endurance test which is what it always in here in Belfast.

Thing is I got steamin drunk yesterday after rehearsal and just woke up (3:20am here) with a mouth as dry as Ghandi's flip-flop and am eating cold pizza so I'll be operating on a hangover.

There's a drink we have here called a Belfast car bomb. You get a shot of Bushmills with a Bailey's head on it and drop the actual shot glass into a pint of Guinness and proceed to down it in one. I dare you! No doubt I'll be havin many of these tomorrow.

Back to lining the stomach with bread and milk! Have a good one.

About a decade and a half ago I worked with a bloke from Ireland. It was St. Patty's day and we were drinking something similar to that, was a long time ago and the memory was going to be hazy anyway if you know what I mean.

Anyway, after a mix of many many Guinesses, and other assorted and sundry drinks, many of which were dyed green and the night grew into morning I made my way home.

As it happened we had a nice fall of fresh snow. Now I am ashamed to say I never sought out alternative transport, ie, a cab or anything. So I pulled into my parking stall got out and proceeded to hurl a large portion of the evening's libations into my neighbors' parking stall. She was a cocktail waitress (at a bar I worked one of my 3 jobs at the time, but not the place i was drinking at that night,) so she didn't get home until some time after I did.(This is a key part of the story.)

So she pulls in and parks. Her husband was an office slave, so in the morning (after the sun came up--this is important here!) he backs out of the stall, and sees this giant green/black stain on the snow under where their car was parked. He assumes he has a leaking transmission, and takes the car in. I felt bad, and paid for their service call.

"as dry as Ghandi's flip flop" classic stuff. This Shaun will be indulging in some green beer and all that good stuff here in Canada. St. Patrick's day in Ireland must be a religious experience. Enjoy!

Twelvebar, thats hilarious!

Hoeycow, yes man it is a bit special anywhere here in Ireland, I still haven't had a St. Paddy's in Downpatrick where he is said to be buried but I've had many here in Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork and Galway. Glasgow, London and New York City are always a bit special too.

Its always messy though, I have come to dread it cos it really is and endurance test, drink til you drop style!

Be responsible people, or if you are a Scotsman of Irish and Brooklyn descent like me then dare to be stupid!

You only live once, you might as well die twice!

Happy st Pat's all.

Unfortunately I'm finding it quite impossible to drink to excess lately. I just have no appetite for it.
But I'll raise a glass to you all later and get the cabbage and bacon on the boil later, off to make some soda bread in a minute. If anyone wants a feed were eating Irish today, just pop round there will be loads.

Now come April the 23rd I want you all to go out and slay a dragon. Something I did frequently when I was single.

Happy St. Patricks Day to all. I'm sure I'll have a couple car bombs Tonight. My girlfriend is a McLaughlin and her B-day is tommorow. We usually end up at the Black Rose in Boston.

Happy St Pats to all, and I loved the story Twelvebar that is a classic. CC did not know you are a Brooklynite. I have only been to the St Paddy's day parade once in my life when I was 13 and it is one of those days I really dont remember at all. If it were not for some of my friends who bring it up, I would not even be able to recall going.
