Well, actually I regret saying that I was, "thinking of giving up", I guess I was just reall pissed off at it :x . But, my best friend who plays drums asked for a jam session after school today, so I did, and suprisingly I went well, atleast in front of 6 people. It was great, there was this group hanging in there(due to heat) who obviosley had to wait for busses or something, that whenever someones comes in there playing any instrument, they say all these negative things...I actually yelled at the top of my lungs, "CANT YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO F***ING PLAY HERE??? PISS OFF IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, AND WHILE YOUR AT IT GET A LIFE OTHER THAN MAKING A C**K OUT OF YOURSELF!!", trying to sound really pissed off at them and that shut them up  (Dont worry, there were no teachers and someone had to teach em a lesson)
Anyway it was fun, it went on for about 3 hours so yeah 8) ......

Riley my little bro - you are the definition of "teen angst".

I'm not sure how many times I've read a post that you're ready to give it up, but within a day or two you're back at it with a story to tell. And that's a good thing. Keep bouncing back! I really do admire you for not giving up when your pick hand starts to act up on you.

Keep at it little brother - give 'em the bird and keep on playing!

Here's an idea, before you post every thought that pops into your head why don't you "sleep on it". That'll save the other members the trouble of shifting through the pointless threads to find something worth reading. Imagine the bandwidth it would save alone! Maybe you should be on Twitter instead.

Just because you know you are going to stub your toes occasionally, you can't decide to give up walking.

Long, long ago in a garage far away, I was in a band with my brother. Every once in awhile, he would tell me I couldn't sing. He was right, of course... but, I still got P.Oed... We used to get into fights because we were both hot heads. (And brothers, I guess...)

But, now we get along fine. Sure, we're both still hot heads. We just don't try to push each other's buttons anymore. This is the reason that bands like The Who, The Kinks, Oasis to name a few, break up and get back together and break up again... When you're young, your fuse is shorter. When things get hot... take a break. It's hard, I know.

The point I guess is, I'm still friends with the guys that were in the band with me. But, we're not working together. And we'll never know what may have happened if we (...well, mostly me...) stuck it out.

Regret is a hard pill to swallow.

Thanks for taking the time to read all that crap, by the way.

PS... I still sing, and I still sorta suck. I still do it, because some people like singers who can't really sing. Go figure.

This really should have been in the same thread as the other one. You're clogging up the forum with a bunch of threads that all say the same thing. :?

Your posts are often quite amusing and interesting to read. However... Even though myself and probably just about everyone here on the Forum uses foul language even with the ** to get past the censors I find that language offensive on a Family Forum.
If you could refrain from using foul language that would be really cool and very adult of you.

And just to add to what others have mentioned, we perhaps don't need an exact play-by-play, word for word re-enactment of what exactly what was said in the event that something similar like this happens again in the future...

Haha, that's awesome, Riley!! :D Keep your chin up and moving ahead--I've experienced some major downtimes in my playing, but I always manage to come back, loving it even more than before.

Looking forward to hearing some more awesome tunes!! :P

its funny dude you probably have super crazy skills :D

I realized the other day that they'll be a lot of musicians who think they're just so great... I ran into this one guy who was trying to play some song for some girls and he ask me what our band name was. I told him and he started laughing at our band name, but then I replied, "and what's your band's name? The Degenerate A##holes?"

He tried to make some snide comment that he was a better musician than me, which led me to ask him, "Well then if you're so great why don't you show me a simple barre chord?"

He couldn't even do that! All he knew were how to play power chords.

Anyways the point of my long story is that you'll always run into people like that... You just got to be the better man.

I'm sorry too CAFeathers I rarely use foul language but that guy I ran into just really made me mad... :?

Just had to show that guy up. Probably wasn't the most mature thing to do...

Well Riley you are going to feel that way a 100X before your twenty. Believe me everyone here be they in there 30s,40s,50s and more all hit a wall every now and then and feel like packing it in. But then you realize you cant live without it.

For everyone that gets a bit short on the fuse Riley is our youngest steady forum member and can be quite trying at times lol. But believe it guys he is getting an education, and just remember how old the little spark plug is before losing patience as we were all there at one time.
