When I was a kid Elvis was making his famous come-back. We thought: what a dinosaur! Why doesn't he go and retire with dignity?

He was 33 - for f-f-f-flip's sake!!!

Cheers - C

From this opinion, the biggest change has been the hyper-over-production of recorded music.

For Heaven's sake, the Beatles and Sones recorded some stuff on Monural. Now, 64 or more tracks, 1200 active graphic equalizers, pedalboards like half sheets of plywood and and racks as big as refigerators and syths every-frigging-where.

What would they sound like, on stage with only, repeat, only, repeat, only...

...a guitar, amp, cord and mic?

Glad he didn't listen, unless I'm wrong some of what we'd have missed

A little less conversation
In the ghetto
Suspicious minds
American Trilogy
Always on my mind
Way Down

loads more probably

Oh most definitely as Elvis came back with a vengeance, and that show is still a classic.

My point exactly.

Our ideas about how young you have to be to do rock and roll have changed over the decades...

I wish Elvis would make another comeback.
We had him musicaly from 56-58 then from 68- 77ish. Thats 11 years. The aliens have had him long enough, humanity needs the return of the king.

I'm still firmly in favour of world Elvis day.

I get an odd feeling when I see some of the older videos. When I was a kid and saw the film Woodstock for the first time. Everything was still new and "hip". It was rated "R", so my dad had to take me... and I'm sure he loved that!

Anyway, whenever I see it now, it just seems... well... old. And it reminds me that I'm old now too.

Along with everything electronic these days, probably just me, but, could you tell out of today's guitarists who was playing if you heard them, do you think the micro chip has taken away some players personality, Clapton, Blackmore, Hendrix, Gilmour & Marvin to mention a few, all recognizable within seconds
