This is more of a statement than anything...

I recently was at a Guitar Center and played the American Special series and

WOW!!! Just amazing guitars! All you'd expect from a high end Fender, playability, function, and looks. An absolute joy to play, i highly suggest all of you Fender guys try one out.

I swear i'm going to save up and buy a Tele Special..only $799

Greg Koch will be demoing those at Sweetwater later this month. I'm going to check them out at that time. He could make 6 rubber bands tied to a tree stump sound good though.

I agree, the American Specials are a joy to play.

I can't say for sure, but I think it's the same guitar made by the same people, just the suckers by the more expensive model. one of my 14 guitars is a 88 strat pluss deluxe

Actually, it's quite different. I tried one and I literally couldn't put it down. :D And I was skeptical about them.

Well I am glad to here the good reviews from hose who actually played one instead of a magazine that tells you every guitar made is a keeper. I also was a bit skeptical as it did not seem like anything special.

I thought it would be just another HWY 1-type guitar. After playing one, I was and still am really impressed with this guitar and I am looking forward to the day I can bring one home.

Tone and looks...it has it all.
