After all these years Iggy and the Stooges finally are getting into the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. It's about time, too many undeserving poseurs that are no more rock artists than Lawrence Welk have been inducted while pioneer"punk"rockers Iggy and the Stooges have sat in the wings. It's a bloody sin that it didn't happen before the untimely death of the very original and influential Ron Asheton.Any more Iggy fans glad to see this happen?

Yeah I'm not a Iggy fan but the Stooges were awesome. Pure raw power.

I wish Ron were alive to see it happen.

Yes, very much deserved. But where is Rush and Deep Purple?

Long overdue indeed, but what is sad is that the MC5 who were just as influential as the Stooges, and also had a huge part in getting the Stooges signed to Elektra records, has not been admitted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. At least Patti Smith gave her late husband and MC5 member Fred "Sonic" Smith a shout out upon her induction into the hall a few years ago...

'Bout time....I love Iggy.

But..........So many others are overlooked.
And yet people like that old biddy Madonna get inducted before acts of more ROCK AND ROLL influence. Hip Hip, Country, Reggae, Rap and all that....it is Not Rock and Roll. They should have their own Halls of fame.
And It should be held in Cleveland(where the Rock Hall is)..., NOT New York.
Cleveland might suck, but WE have the hall...Sorry had to vent......JMHO-N 8)

Glad to see Iggy make it. He was long over due for sure.

On the other hand the Rock & Roll hall of Fame if a freekin’ joke. It has made a mockery of the entire industry and in my opinion is nothing more than a waste of good Lake front property.

Congrats you have been inducted into a hall that believes the following artists are rock and roll artists

Louis Armstrong
Chet Atkins
Jonny Cash
Aretha Franklin
Marvin Gaye
Bill Monroe
Run- D.M.C
Supremes
Hank Williams

What an E-ffing Joke

There are many others deserving of being in a Rock N Roll Hall of fame, but aren't.

Wonder how many people have to die to get in.

Don't get worked up about it though--have your own personal hall of fame--and include whoever you want--and keep out whoever you want.

WT, don't forget that rock and roll's roots are in jazz, blues, and r&b

Glad to see the Stooges get in, as I'm sure many others are. I wonder what weird paraphernalia they got from Iggy over the years, that should be quite interesting to say the least.

Rant incoming:
To all those who constantly whining about the hall's selections (Not anyone specific, just in general >_>), keep in mind that it's the hall of FAME, not the hall of influence. You first induct the artists who will have the biggest draw and then a couple of bands like the Stooges for strictly influence. The place isn't that big, so they have to manage space while still trying to sell tickets. Plus Rock and Roll is an incredibly general and vague term that originated on a radio station in Cleveland in the 40's, it embodies many specific genres including country, rap, and gospel. Also please, the rock hall is not the holy grail of achievements in the music industry, it is just a museum where one goes to acquire knowledge and view art from the past. There's no reason to hate the hall, it does a lot more good than bad. For the record, I don't care if there is a Backstreet Boys or N'sync exhibit someday, as long as Duane Allman's Les Paul is there it's still a rock and roll hall of fame and museum.
