Chicks of the 80’s

In a male dominated industry, they rocked out big time.

Who was/is your favorite female artist?

Here are mine

My favorite female artist of the 80s is Kate Bush. I can't think of another female pop or rock musician who's been more creative or interesting. Oh, and she's pretty damn hot, too! :) Her vocal style is quite unique -- she's the kind of person whose music you either love or hate. But I love it.

Here's Miss Bush performing with the man who "discovered" her, Mr. David Gilmour...

I didn't care much for girl bands in the '80's... hard for me to grasp the concept of girls and the "bad" rock 'n roll image. Maybe one exception to that whole idea is Joan Jett! She rocked! Joan Jett 2006 I did like the Go Go's and Bangles for obvious reasons stated above.

Funny though... I have tickets to see Pat Benetar on June 25 this year along with REO Speedwagon on the same venue. I hope they all still have it.

Mrs Yngwie Malmsteen herself, probably the fastest female guitarist out there. The inimitable

I don't consider them a truely "girl band" but its hard to beat the Wilson sisters "Heart" in the late 70s and early 80s.
