I just got back from the Eric Clapton concert in Orlando and it was just amazing. If I didn't love his playing before I love it ten times more!!

Roger Daltrey opened and was very entertaining. He said the Who may start touring in September if Pete townsends hearing can improve. His version of "who are you" was amazng.

Clapton hasn't lost a beat but he's completely expressionless and just says "thank you" after each song and that's basically it.

The only thing lacking was the acoustic performance of Layla, which was done at a very odd cadence. And his solo was just unfitting and odd. It really felt like he's done with that song.

He used a Pewter signature strat. Never having to tune once and his Signature Martin. Just 2 for two hours of playing. Says alot about the quality of those instruments

His backup band is as follows Bilbo Baggins, the Crypt Keeper, Dudley Moores ghost, and some guy playing bass. I know he's 64 but wow his band used sun dials to tell time when they grew up. I really thought they were going to hurt themselves playing.

Otherwise Clapton was amazing. And don't let the Superbowl thing fool you Roger Daltrey is still rockin'.

BTW Daltreys flight cases said "The Who" on them

Sundials lol. Glad you had a great time and would not expect anything less from EC. You are probably right about Layla when you figure he has played it about 10,000 times.
