Floyd, you are a newcomer to this forum and since you've joined you've not posted anything of great importance but have exhibited a penchant for mindless drivel and miscellaneous ramblings about your not so secret infatuation with a certain drug addled performer. In one of your most recent postings you launched into a personal attack on a valued long time member who has contributed more advice, goodwill and intelligent input than you could ever hope to.Due to your scandalous behaviour and hateful words this member has chosen to leave the forum.Because of your reckless and foolish immaturity we are losing an important member and dear friend to us all.I'd advise you to get over to his last post and suck it up and give him the apology he deserves as your actions are uncalled for and indefensible so get over there and at least show some level of maturity and try to right the wrong you have commited. Then remove yourself from the forum for as far as I'm concerned you have over-stayed your welcome and you yourself are no longer welcome here.I'm sure that there are others that share my sentiment.Goodbye.

Yeah if he was going to be infatuated with a drug addled performer, it at least could of been Hendrix ;)

Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood.

I didn't read to far into those posts, Nirvana never interested me. I'll leave it at that.

I dont think that floyd meant to hurt anyone by that comment- I have read it over and over and to be honest, I cannot see that it was directed at any individual at all. You must understand that he is a kid, and he may not allways think before he says something.

I do agree that comment does not belong on a forum.

I actually have an issue myself regarding the "distgust" comment in which CC labeled cobain less of a man and said that he could not look at him without disgust for his suicide.

5 years ago- my father died of cancer when I was 25. I also found out, that he kept the fact he had cancer a secret. I talked to his doctor who was in fact a family friend, and he told me that he found the cancer at a very premature stage where it could have been treated.

I also knew Dad was prone to depression, and going back I did remember he went through a stage of keeping to himself and I wouldn't hear from him for weeks. I started to suspect something was wrong when the cancer progressed to a point it was making him loose weight and look gaunt.

The doc told me that even though he was a family friend (his dad and my dad were great workmates) , he was also bound by our strict NZ privacy laws. He said for a long time- he felt like he wanted to grab my father by the scruff of the neck and drag him to the hospital where he could get treatment. But he couldnt. He knew that he kept it from everybody- and he couldnt even tell his own father for heavens sake.

Anyway- I heard dad was sick just 10days beforer he died. He knew he had cancer- he knew he was going. He was depressed and he didnt want to do anything about it and he didnt want anyone to know. He kept it from everyone. He wanted to go- and he knowingly let the disease itself take him. He passed on sunday 5 sept 2005- which in NZ the first sunday in Sept is actually Fathers Day.

That is a form of suicide. horrible word, but thats what it is. It affects me in many ways I cannot describe, and it haunts me every year. Is my dad a coward? Ill put it this way. If someone actually said to my face, I wouldnt hesitate to roll up my sleeves, and ask them to politely step outside.

As far as that comment is concerned- seriously. Ive had enough of this forum. If people can say stuff like that and claim "I have a right to free speech and I can say whatever I want"-regardless of the consequences it brings on others- then this post I am afraid is my final post on this forum. It has struck too close to home for me and I got a little upset, and whats worse is others got on that bandwagon too.

Good luck everyone, I will miss the photos, the threads and the characters and the friends I have made.

Peace out,
B.

Sorry to hear all this but we have to learn restraint otherwise all we have are wars and armagedon. If we allow these threads to escalate into retaliatory wars then it's going to get heavy and people will stop posting or joining.

Nobody can fix this but us. It's in your hands so take a deep breath and get it done. There are a lot of good people here. We can do it!

I really think before anyone be asked to cease participation, we all forget our ego's and try and embrace the idea that individualy we all have a very narrow perspective of the world. Whilst being sick to the back teeth of the incessant nirvana threads, our perspective is widened by the eyes in other peoples heads. If we can try to excersize a fraction the forgiveness we often hope to receive from others, we'll improve our online community and enjoy a lot less stress and hurt.
Not taking sides. I've seen way too many aspects of whats being discussed here. The only option now is as Jeffo says, to let it drop.

I haven't been on as much this past week, but so much has happened, I feel like Moses when he came down the mountain with the 15 commandments, but then was shocked by all the insanity and craziness that he dropped the tablet, and the section with 11-15 broke...or at least thats my understanding of it from watching History of the World Part 1....
