nothing in the world like talking your girl backpacking into kananaskis country to camp and fly fish for cutthroat and rainbows ...and bull trout, and brown trout..and.....

I my farm is over 2800 acres(in Saskatchewan). I made my own private campground that we use almost every night in the summer, to roast sausages, I have a rotisserie set up a tripod and I cook roast(with half a bulb of garlic cloves stuck into stab wounds) over a bed of coals with a nice bottle of something to wash it down. and my dog seems to enjoy comming with me,I wonder why  we all eat good

[quoteyself and several like minded friends spent several weekends there cleaning up the mess and bringing it to a dump. After we cleaned it up we all brought our kids there every weekend for 3 summers and went swimming in the nearby pond it was an idyllic place, I often wonder what it's like now.[/quote]

that is a very noble thing to do. I try to always leave the place even better than I found it

My family used to go camping at the same place every year at a lake in SC when i lived at home. I loved it then and still do even though i haven't been in a few years. The weather is getting about right now for a fishing /camping trip and i'm past due for a trip.

I've never been what you'd call "outdoorsy." My idea of "roughing it" is not ordering room service.

Went camping just last weekend (up at Mansfield - Riley would know where this is). Unfortunately we had some of the worst weather on record. The tent leaked on the first night. For the second night I put a tarp over it for extra protection. By the next morning our campsite was practically a lake!
The only thing that seemed not to mind was this fella who I found under the tent when I packed it up...

I used to go camping with my family for probably 2 months of the year. I grew up at a little camp ground and had some of my best memories there well into my teens and early party years. Good, good times.

I love to backpack... if I ever took the time to set up a photosite I would post some really cool pics of the Smokies and other parts of the App. Trail, Piscah, and even this one beautiful pic I took down when I was camping in Charleston. :)
