This is my one and only statement on Nirvana/Kurt, unless I have to retort:

I'll just say this. Kurt Cobain was a good songwriter. But this is a guitar forum and he was adequate at best. Sure he had deal with Fender but so did Tom Delonge who incidentally is a better guitarist by a little bit.

If Kurt hadn't killed himself would we even care? I mean think of all of the bands at the time. Most just disappeared and the ones still making music. Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins (far superior bands) etc. Are writing stuff that noone really gives a crap about anymore.

So enjoy Nirvana to remember the good times you had when they were around, but don't elevate them to "legendary" status like Led Zepplin...Jimmy Page knows more than 3 chords.

How about we just let this one die already. This forum has been bombarded with Nirvana and Cobain opinions lately and all it has done is cause seriously heated arguments.

So do you think it's more constructive to battle non stop over something that's been beaten to death already? It's great that we all have opinions but when people keep making threads that are prolonging an argument I hardly see the need for it.

This is not an insult to anyone, but I do not understand the interest in Nirvana and/or Kurt Cobain. I have been playing for 30 plus years and never has anyone in any situation ever requested a Kurt Cobain/Nirvana song. I've never heard one of their songs on the juke box during set up or tear down on. I've been asked for virtually every other artist and or genre. Never for Nirvana.

That's all I've got to say about that.
