Its mesmerizing isn't it?

I wasn't far off letting loose on my Tele earlier like that, just with MUCH less talent. Prince is outstanding!

Hey Hoeycow, Cross Eyed Mary have finished our recording for the most part (I hope!) and everything is in the mixing stages and gigs being booked. At the moment we are just back to rehearsing twice a week and running through everything, trying to incorporate any overdubs into the live set etc. Its sounding good, thanks for asking!

Great video, thanks CC, I have seen this a few times before and Prince is an amazing artist but does not always get the respect because he is
different  , to each his own but a good musician and artist and some pretty amazing chops with that Tele 8)

On the Prince video Purple Rain theres some outstanding guitar. Not only is he a superb guitarist and singer. His drum, piano, dance/choreography and songwrtiting skills have for a long time been overlooked.

He is the A grade performer. You can bring up Jackson or whoever, this bloke does it all. At a world beating level.

Hello!

Prince is the man! That clip has been a fav of mine for a while now. I saw him live at the O2 Arena and he was just awsome!

I can assure you all there is a guy who I believe, has the sole job of catching Prince's guitars. An art form in its self. I bet there's a "Roadie Rock School" which covers "How to catch a Musical Geniuses flying guitar" and "Where to run and hide if you drop it" as part of the curriculum!

Enjoy

Andy

Great video. I've know for a long time that Prince is an extremely talented guitar player. Its just a shame that most of his own music does not showcase his guitar playing. :?

A truly amazing performance that I saw when it originally aired. I am surprised that a lot more people dont know what an amazing player or I should say musician Prince is. When he was origanly signed he was given complete artistic control over his music. The guy can play about 10 instruments on a pro level and on a lot of his albums played all the music himself. If Little Richard and Hendrix were able to have a kid it would of been Prince.lol

You defiantly can see the influence they have had on him. The amazing thing about that solo besides the playing of course is that you can see how confident he is in his ability.

They ask us why we play. How can you possibly explain to the uninitiated what we see in that performance? We all know where he's gone. because we've all been there. It's starts in the brain, drives into the shoes, rams back up the spine, back into the brain, and out into the hands, and there's nothing else around you at the moment but you and the music, all be it surrounded by thousands...you are alone in the moment. Try explaining that to your wife when she tells you 'it's too loud"! :? Might as well try describing elephant to Helen Keller.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Prince is a phenominal guitarist. He is not given enough credit for his "Mad Skillz". My example is the solo on "let's go crazy". I hear that and I get the chills.
Alot of people have no idea how good he is on guitar let alone the half dozen other instruments he can play.
Another case of " he looks weird and acts weird I'm not sure if I like his playing ".....Similar to the John 5 idea.
I wish he would do more on guitar.
Enough said.-N

I'm not saying you have to like him, but you can't deny his chops.
