Anti haters association. There are three things you can't hate
1)Nirvana
2)fender guitars
3)a nice cool drink on a warm summer night strumming your guitar outside in the warm summer breeze.

I don't hate the original Nirvana from the 60's......

This is a music forum bro, you can't tell people what not to like etc. None of us here like the same thing. The world would be boring if we did.

edit: Let me clarify I do like Nirvana, especially because they helped end hair metal. ^^

Back to this debate again, lol, 'helped' is right. Ushered in blandness i.e. Britpop....also true. JMO

I used to like Nirvana when I was a kid and I've said before I think because of their lyrical content that it's mostly early teens who are into them, as I think the hard core Nirvana fans on our beloved forum prove as they are of that age from what I gather, and will one day 'grow out' of it.

Every musician I know here who is my age loved them cos we were early teens when they were huge but as time moved on so did we unlike other bands of the time who remained with us GN'R, U2, RHCP etc. Again JMO and drawing from my own personal experience. Plus as we all grew up and had families and strived to make a decent living as musicians we understood more of what a selfish man Kurt was. Again JMO.

I love it when you do that word jumble different take on it thing (take on me!) Solid. I bet your lyrics are amazing in terms of double meanings, denotation and connotation. Do you write the lyrics for the most part bro?

When I saw AHA I thought it was to do with that fine group from the 80s but it's just another pro Kurt Cocaine thread ...oh my my.

This thread is going allover the place . AHA had a classic single that you just could not get out of your head even if you did not like the song. Is there anyone that could truthfully say they new what the lyric was when he hits the falsetto. For those who say yes I dont believe you.lol I'll be Gone- In a day or Two. I believe we all had to see a lyric sheet for that one.

Nirvana. To be honest I feel Cobain had a gift with words but his guitar skills especially his lead playing were just awful, and when I hear a song these days it even sounds worse. I hated the grunge movement for trying to kill guitar soloing as mostly all of them did not solo and those who did were better off not. The barely new how to tune there guitars and what pissed me off even more was that a lot of great players were ridiculed for having chops and even guitar magazines went anti skill.

I have every right to utterly despise nirmamma and their bland, boring, mtv inspired attempts at alternative music. If I want to become a fan of some tv friendly band that nothing but a manufactured tool so a corporation can make money from a particular part of a music fanbase. I'll listen to Beyonce, shes a lot better looking than some gang of spotty smackheads.

I plan on excersizing that right for the rest of my days.

I second that. I hated them when they were out and on the up, I hated them at their peek, and seeing Kurt Kabang immortalized like he was John F-ing Lennon just makes me dispise them all the more. Their greatest moment in my opinion was when the bass player threw his bass in the air and came down on his head.... classic.

I think its funny that Kurt Cobain was all anti-establishment and anti-corporate, and yet Nirvana did MTV Unplugged...

Either way, I like Nirvana. Sometimes.

Hate is a word I don't like to use.

1) Not a fan of Nirvana. Never have been, never will be.

2) Love my Fender guitars/basses

3) Not a drinker of alcoholic beverages. Some cold water or Ice Tea would be great! I'd rather be playing inside in the AC on warm summer nights.

John thats exactly my point, whether you or I like or dislike nirvanah is of no ones business but our own.

I hate the way their portrayed as being anti establishment. They were nothing but happy gogo dancers used by mtv to get in on the alternative music market. They wouldnt have got anywhere had it not been for their submission/employment to/by the establishment they hated so much.
