I've always had a soft spot for these axes and was playing one not long ago. They are wee growlers, I really like any recordings I've heard them on too. I say go for it. Its cheap, its quality and it sounds great. Whats not to like?

Stupid stores around me never stock ANYTHING I want. They tend to stock the most epic crap. I think it would make economic sense to stock a few of these.

I am not into guitar modding, but with this one I just might. I have a couple ideas in my head already.

Cool bro, what you got in mind?

Great guitars. They also had a 2 pickup version. Very simple and nothing fancy. These things are hand built in the USA. The necks are also hand made and vary slightly from guitar to guitar. I wouldn't mind two and put a P90 on one of them.

Turn it into a little Gibson "Esquire". Undecided on possible bridge pickup. Never played one of these before so it might be good stock.
I would look for a P-90 to put in there.

I am really unfamiliar with P-90 pickups. I have never had a guitar with them. That could be an option, although I could just get a Les Paul Junior (which I think are great too).
I almost want to get a bad Clownburst LP with P-90's because of this:

Yes you are correct again 63supro they are nice playing guitars. Not cheap feeling at all, sell for $500. I would rather have the Joan Jett Melody Maker though it has the DB body and burstbucker Vol/Ton knobs with a kill switch they cost $1000. Well you get down to it they are both nice!

I was looking at one of those... but, I bought an SG Standard instead. They are nice, though.

(Just so everyone knows... I'm on this forum because I have a MIM Strat and a 1970 Tele with a Bigsby... I record a lot and I needed to put a little contrast to the Fenders... I mostly play the Tele...)

they are cool guitars, I have been thinking Firebird after playing one the other day at The Music Store, it was very fun and sounded good, a good solid body electric guitar sound.

That's one guitar that I have never had Solid B. Were you playing the Firebird V neck through guitar?

it was yellow, body neck headstock with 2 pickups I looked very closely to see if it was refinished and it looked original but I can't remember if it said V ( I can't remember ever having said "i can't remember" so many times in one day I think its some where in every one of my posts today, I'm not saying it again) CV I will take another look when go there again next week.

I got the two pickup version in 2008, in vintage burst. It's a great guitar for the money I paid, only one mod to date. I changed the bridge pup, I had an SD quarter pounder put in. I had a look on the Gibson site a few mins ago, they don't seem to offer the same guitar. All I could see was the single pickup version, looks like they have stopped making the one I have?
