Didn't we just do this post?
I think rileytheguitarist or Floyd the Barber (one of the two) just did this.

I was never a fan of Nirvana so I don't have a favorite song.

Unplugged was a decent album, although it is not on my playlist.

Who is Nirvana? Are they a band? Or are we discussing being in a state of nirvana? Just asking.

I'm so glad there's two identical threads running side by side on this vital topic.

Cheers - C

Kurt stole the name. There was already a Nirvana in the 60's.

Weren't Nirvana called Skid Row too at some point?

Very original.....

Saying that my band is named after a song but I see that as ok compared to stealing a bands name.

I think its fine to name after an obscure song but to take a bands name, not once, but twice is ridiculous.

And don't dare tell me what to do, I have as much right as any. Freedom of speech and all that.

unless Nirvana (first one) was a well known band, how can you possibly prove that it was intentionally 'stolen'

I can't and they were well known. I just think they could have come up with something more suitable considering the meaning of Nirvana in contrast to the mans personality.
