I do wish fender would work with Long and mcQuade, our largest, and only truly nationwide chain, to provide some stuff we can win.

We get the 'worst of both worlds' falling under the Fender USA umbrella as far as contests go. We are precluded from the USA only contests, and have no avenue for any of our own. At least people with an ocean between them and fender USA can occasionally get regional specific contests.

Then to top it off, our big chain only has 2 Showcase stores. There are a sprinkling of independents, but even though I live in a city of over a Million people I would have to drive 3-ish hours to another city to get to a CS Showcase dealer. Our bug chain should have one in at least every major city they are in. that's not fender's fault, but it would be cool if they did some encouraging.

psstt brad you don't make your Canadian friends feel any better when they whine, and you post telling us about the European contest we also can't enter! :P :P

well that's my pointless ranting done I guess.

That's it in a nut shell.

I have entered contests based outside of Canada that are open to Canadians, but I stop and ask myself if I won, would I and could I pay the duty, taxes, etc on this item if I won.

If I could & would I enter--if I'm not willing or able I pass.

Something like the suggestion above would work for me.

And again I do thank Brad for opening up the forum draws to everybody.

Even though I didn't win, it was cool being included.
