Even though what others have already posted here is very true for most promotional opportunities that we run here, believe it or not ... we actually do plan to offer a complementary American Special prototype giveaway intended specifically for a few European markets. It's a logistical nightmare and we can't do it for every giveaway we run, but this was a case where the opportunity was 'special' enough (no pun intended :-) ) to warrant it. If you're in Europe, keep an eye on your local Fender site (just click the link up at top right that reads "Choose Your Country") as a few local competitions will be launching soon.

Hey thanks for posting this, otherwise I wouldn't have known about the contest. Maybe I'll win. :)

Brad's on the money. At least you Europeans have your own Fender branch(es) that occasionally hold contests for you. In Canada we are under the Fender USA umbrella. We get a grand total of zero localized contests here. Brad and the forum afford us our only opportunities to win swag from Fender.

I know i posted about this before ( fender competitions only open to U.S. residents.

For a global company, i think its bad form. E.U citizens deserve the chance to win a free guitar also.

schmintan, how you doin' Bro 8)

Your lucky they do competitions in your part of the globe.. Fender NZ Ltd (who are the distributers ironically) doesnt do anything like competitions at all. Afterall, with the vast majority of the products going only to one retailer down here who are intent on charging like a wounded bull, I cant see why they would run giveaways to be honest. It wouldnt make sense to give away products to people who would otherwise pay money for them.
Im not complaining- it's just an observation.

Yep, Europe will get several giveaways but not Canada. Never Canada and for some reason, not Rhode Island either. I don't get that. What did Rhode Island ever do to be excluded from USA? Somebody in Providence must have said a bad word.

Check the fine print in section 5 called "Eligibility".

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Always a deal my bro. You are welcome on stage with us ANY time, that goes without sayin for most of you guys here. I think the only chance I have of selling out MSG though is if we call the band Free Beer and Boobies!

ya I hate the u.s only policy too. I live about 30 miles into Canada

I have spent thousands on fender gear, many of my family members have been playing and collecting fender since the mid 60"s its an insult that I am disqualified from being entered in a contest. aren't we all equal regardless of where we live? we are all fender customers.

its not like I am big time butthurt over it but the principle of it bugs me. its cool that they have one for the uk but that does not help me any.
