No, nowhere near it. I have horrible picking technique, cant seem to get the right tone, and I'm horrible at playing those fast songs.
But I still love playing and gradually getting better :)

I have been practicing for about 3 months. I can barely play anything and when I do I make lots of mistakes. That said... I am happy with my progress. It feels great when I nail something that has been hard to get! It's like a light comes on! 8)

I'll say it yet again... it comes in baby steps. 8)

Precisely...

I can never play what I'm hearing in my head--sometimes I do come closer than others. Sometimes I'm not even close.

But it's fun to try.

I'm satisfied with how far I've come, but I'll probably never be 100% satisfied with my playing...

After all, there's always room for improvement! :D

I am never happy at my playing, that is what drives me to practice. The more I practice, the better I get, the better I get the more I realize I need to learn. It is a vicious cycle. I figure by the time I am 50 I should be one heck of a decent player.

I'll never be satisfied with my playing no matter if others thought my playing was great I will always be trying to better my technique.I wouldn't be at all surprised if guys like Beck and Clapton are not satisfied with their playing, always feeling that there could be things they could be doing to make their playing better but you'd never convince me in their cases there was room for improvement.

Of course not. The day you're satisfied with your playing, you stop learning. Then you start playing the same chord progressions over and over again and all your solo's start sounding the same . . . . . .

If you expect perfection, you'll never be satisfied. You can accept that and enjoy trying to be perfect though. Music is all about the journey so although I want to be better, I'm not unhappy about where I am.
