ok- i'd like to keep my new strat as free from dings as possible. i came across something called the "scratch pad". has anybody used one? i mainly want to know if it stays on while playing, but comes off easily when a string change is needed. more important is when it is taken off, does it leave anything behind that could damge the finish?

i have a mim strat btw. does fender make any such product?

I`m kinda fussy with my guitars too but I don`t think I would put one of those skins on them. It might not let the wood breathe and cause the finish to crack sooner than expected. Its going to happen anyway but I`d let it happen naturally than put something over it to try and protect it and wind up speeding up the process. Dings and scratches are part of the aging process unless your going to keep in locked up in its case. Play the guitar like its meant to be used or you won`t get to enjoy it.

Do not buy this produce. I used it and it destroyed my finish on the back of my les Paul custom signature the idea is good but what ever is in the part that sticks to your guitar will bleed into the finish….this is not a sound product.. it will do more harm than good…trust me!!!
