The Dish? I love The Dish - but... comedy?

There aren't two films by that name are there?

Whatever: a great view.

I think there are at least 2. The one I meant was this one:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0205873/

It's about the Australian involvement in the Apollo 11 launch and lunar landing - cracks me up every time.

"In search of the Holy Grail". The first time I saw it, I had to stop the VCR a few times so I could start breathing again. :D

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of. I love it - I just didn't think it was a comedy. A touching story with moments of gentle humour was the way it struck me. Very nice, and Sam Neill is always good value.

Also, the film where I learnt the word "drongo". I've had good mileage out of that one since... :D

I agree with your description of it - but the humourous parts are the ones that I recall most often. It amazes me how often I've met people and experienced situations that reminded me of the movie. Except for the doing something as important as putting someone on the moon bit...

As I say, I love the movie. Apart from anything else it is a good antidote to the "moon landings were faked" conspiracy theory. Yeah - then how did they fake a signal coming from the Apollo when it was thousands of miles above Australia? How'd you fake the triangulation aspect of that?

Since you know the film, fenderstrat1963, you understand what I'm on about.

Anyhow. Back on thread: Young Frankinstein is another fave of mine...

Cheers - C
