My friend had Christine. (a 1983 John Carpenter movie) it was about a 1958 Plymouth Fury that was possessed (it was a car) so that would be recommended if you wanna scare the crap out of your friends!

If you really want to scare the crap out of your friends, then get them to read Stephen King's original novel. Carpenter's film version tries hard and does have a few great moments, but it's black and white compared to the technocolour of the book.

Good choice on this forum though. It is a very rock 'n' roll story line - even down to the teenage death car song lyrics at the start of each chapter.

I'll buy the novel sometime in next April and scare the CRAP out of my girlfriend.

Saw Insidious during the week. Not the best storyline. It did however make me jump a good few times.

The ones I own...

Another vote for Christine. I LOVE that film. Best car ever, as long as you don't have anyone else, at all, ever.

Hostel isn't really a horror, but $@!& me it's gory. The bit where the chap has his Achilles' tendons slashed... *shudder*

Ghost Ship. It's a pretty rubbish film, but the opening scene is gold and I love the whole 'deserted at sea' thing. It's very chilling.

And another vote for 28 Days Later. Awesome film.

Steel Magnolias. It's totally scary that wimmin still think this is a great flick worth seeing multiple times. Back when it was a current new release it used to scare the crepes out of me whenever me and the (then) little Missus would walk past it in the video store. I'd get skeered she'd wanna rent it. Again. There was times I was so skeered I'd be in a cold sweat. There's others like it too. Just as scary. Bridges of Madison. Crepes like that. Those ratings people should be sued for not rating those movies as horror flicks cuz they sure scare me!!!

The scream series (although the 2nd one was a bit boring IMO)
The shining (unfortuanately i didn't get to see all of it)
Nailed (i didn't like the way it was portraied, but i liked the storyline of it)

thats all i can think of.
