LOL. Yeah, won't hold my breath for that one. I can't even get a guy to spit in my direction let alone hang around me for more than five seconds.

guitslinger...took your advice. I picked out a Beatle's guitar strap today. I was deciding between the Sgt. Pepper one and the one with the Faces so I got the one with the faces on it (young John Lennon sold it for me). I don't know about strap locks though. I've been looking earlier on youtube and how you have to drill your guitar to put them in? Not my cup of tea. I love power drills but me with one is very dangerous. LOL

very very funny  although more than five seconds threw my off, gives new meaning to the old minute man story, unless you were reaching for the power drill.

Man, I should never be allowed to write until I read everything very VERY thoroughly. Thanks for the chuckles.

LVA,

You should not have to drill new holes. Just put the new screws and buttons where the old ones are. I always use the same hole. I would never take a drill to my guitar, that is a job for someone more qualifed than me to do.

It should be screws out, take off the felt, insert new screw into new button, put felt between where the button and the wood would meet, screw it until it is snug. Do not over tighten, it could strip the wood.

What kind of strap locks require you to drill new holes?

The Ernie Ball ones. I was also looking at the Fender locks.

Here are the Fender ones

Here is the Ernie Ball:

EDIT: Oh great, now I'm reading alot of mixed reviews about the Beatles' straps. Hope I didn't screw up on this. Damn. I only have one store by me (and it's hard to get out of the house) and it's a mom and pop store and there weren't alot of selection of straps.

A strap is a strap. It goes over your shoulder, either end should attatch to the guitar. It shouldnt snap. End of story.

Locking strap buttons from Schaller

These ones
Need no drilling. I use em. Sometimes the nut can work loose if the strap is thick. By and large their great though.

LVA,

I use both the Fender/Schallers and the Dunlop Strap locks. I have not used the Ernie Ball, but same concept it looks the same. Check out the Dunlops:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StraplokN/
Some people do not like these locks, but I find them easier to use than the Schallers. They are a push button to release system as opposed to pull to release.

Also check out some of these on-line stores. For small items (strings, small accessaries) I use these on-line stores to save on gas money and time. My regular haunt is an hour away and I hate driving.

Musician's Friend
Guitar Center
Sweetwater
Sam Ash
321 Music

These are all .com sites and have secure pay sites you can use. They do accept debit cards. Best part is your stuff is delivered right to your door.

Again screw out and screw in to replace.

Thanks all. I do shop at Guitar Center and musician's friend. I've never heard of Sweetwater or Sam ash, so I'll have to check those out.

I've been also thinking, when I get better at playing, at a basic wah wah pedal. I just like the sound of it.

EDIT: Wow, just noticed. I'm a roadie now. LOL
