Highway One is either between Deluxe and American Special or equal with deluxe

And American Vintage then Custom shop go on the end in that order

I believe the finish up would be certain American artist series guitars and then Custom Shop.

Just flip-flop the American Standard and Deluxe and it will be right in my opinion. Until the deluxe gets something better than those crappy SCN's The standard will be the better guitar in my book.

Interesting point, Joe.

In this opinion, the American Deluxe Stratocaster is lovely, "too nice to be a Fender," but yes the SCN pups and S-1 remove it from being a traditional, "real" Stratocaster.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Deluxe with a V-neck but the SCN's just don't do it for me. The deluxe could be on a much higher level with the right p'ups.

The highway 1 and the American special should be at the same tier. seeing as they are practically the same guitars.

not really. the american special has a few "upgrades" over the highway one.
