got the mustang home a few days ago and its great.... the neck has been perfect, but today when i got home and picked up my baby (the stang) up, i noticed a kind of dirty, gritty feeling on some spots of the neck..... looked at it under a VERY bright LED lamp my mom has, and i noticed little specs on these spots. trying to see if they were bubbles in the finish or something, i scratched VERY lightly with my finger nail. when i did that the weird crap came off and it felt clean. my question is..... how do i clean the rest of the neck off? also, is this crap just sweat or something?

thanks in advance.

Its the dirt from playing. I clean my neck, frets, fingerboard and under the strings after every session. Means its perfect when I go to play them.

I just use a cotton cloth. Same kind I would use to clean the furniture. Run it through a washing machine first to get the excess off it if you are cleaning round the bridge.

I use string cleaner and an old sock for under the strings.

they look even better in person than on the site.... i got daphne blue and its a bit darker, the neck has slightly more tint, and the pickguard and tuners have a yellowed, vintage look to them.... also, the switches do get in your way at first, but you get used to them and adapt your picking slightly and youre fine
