Big J.B. fan here. It seems to me that he's doing now what S.R.V. did in the eighties and Hendrix before that. Exploring, pushing limits. And for those of us who are seeking the Joe Bonamassa tone, be prepared to load up lots of credits cards.

See, maybe it is just me but I can't help but notice that the "loud noughted guy" (if we are talking about the same loud mouthed guy) really seems to have a sound and presentation a lot like someone who is trying to emulate Joe B. But that's just me.

I agree JB was better than Mayer when he was 12 so it wouldn't be a contest. I'll bet the two of them together would sound good though and it could actually spark something in Mayer to get back to the blues and leave all this pop crap he's doing alone.
