Shredding isn't my cup of tea, I'd rather hear a guitar sing.

Not sure if you count Satriani as a shredder, but he definitely has the chops and melody to go with it...

Shredders bore me to death. I'd rather hear the pristine tones of David Gilmour making each and every note count. I'll take melody over speed tricks anyday.

i got in a bit of arguement today with someone who claimed speed was something you had to judge a guitarist on, which was rediculous to me, but anyways...

i enjoy buckethead, he does some cool work with a lot of effects and stuff, he also has some slower paced songs, all around good guitarist in my opinion

I don't like shredders, music is no circus act or wild-west shootout.

How about Blues Rock shredders -- Buddy Guy, Walter Trout, Jimmy Thackery.

I don't know if these guys are considered shredders, but I really like Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom and Matt Pike from High On Fire.

Hey guys

I'm a newbie on this site and getting to know it.

I dont really care for shredding that much... it gets a bit boring sometimes, I prefer medium-paced, well put together solos and licks
