June 9, 1972, a day that will live in infamy. I saw Led Zeppelin in Charlotte, NC

Nothing has been the same ever since! 8)

way too many bests to list, so, Jimi Hendrix Experience at the Hollywood Bowl Sept '68 and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band at Knebworth Festival July '74 are great memories.

-Iron Maiden - The Somewhere back in Time Tour

Saw it in Jersey, MSG and wife flew me to FLorida for the final show of the tour. Very lucky boy

What a setlist and what an amazing show. I've said it before and i'll say it again... check out the Flight 666 documentary of the tour. I dragged a feller to see it at the theater who wasn't even into maiden and he was very bummed he didn't take me up on the free ticket offer after my other friend bailed.

other shows include

Roger Waters - In the Flesh 1999
Pink Floyd - 1994
Phish - Live at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in FLorida back in 1997
Rush - Counterparts show ... had Front row seats

1) The Who -- the It's Hard tour -- 1983
This was a stadium tour. HOWEVER, the SF Bay Area was given an additional much smaller in-door gig in addition to the stadium show (one of each). The Who only did these smaller indoor shows for only a couple of cities. I got tickets to the indoor show which was general admission. And ... miraculously … we ended up getting seats right by the stage. They opened with "My Generation" and played for about three hours. Pete even tried to smash a guitar at one point which he stopped doing many years before. Rolling Stone even did a national write up on this indoor show.
It was a-m-a-z-i-n-g ...

2) Thin Lizzy on the China Town tour (1981?)
Ironically, Kansas was playing the same night who we actually wanted to see more than Lizzy. We ended up going to Lizzy because tix went on sale a week before Kansas, so we already had tickets. This was Thin Lizzy’s best lineup, too (Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson). Thin Lizzy was so good it was scary ... rock and roll at its pinnacle. You had to see them to understand. Wall-to-wall Gibson Les Pauls ...

3) Van Halen on the 1984 tour (the last with Roth)
This was the masters at the very top of their well-honed game.

It would be a toss up between Steely Dan (2006) and Jeff Beck (2009).

i've only been to a few concerts, but the best was definitely AC/DC in atlanta two years ago. they sure know how to but on a good show. but this is coming from an avid AC/DC fan, so take it as you will. :D

Best - Pink Floyd
Most Fun - John Cougar Mellencamp
Worst - George Thorogood
Most Anticlimactic - Eric Clapton

George was so wasted he couldn't sing or play for 5h!t and fell down twice.

I hope Eric was sick or depressed and therefore has an excuse of some kind because if that's how little energy or effort or vitality he puts into his shows then he's a bum. He just stood there motionless. He gave us nothing. I walked out wanting a refund. (Edmonton, September 1998)

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
