good for you  now why don't you check out some early zz top stuff and expand the amount of musical styles you listen to , it might get you off that brick wall you were mentioning the other day .

Meh, dont think I'll ever like em, not my style. Again, I listen to many other genres apart from grunge.

Gentlemen, gentlemen--let's play nice.

Riley, you're wrong to not give ZZ Top a chance--they had different "Stages" (sorry, bad pun that made [maybe] four people laugh) throughout their career, and while their core sound ("the same three guys with the same three chords," according to Billy Gibbons) never really changed, all the embellishments and ancillary effects progressed as time went on.

If you're into grunge (which you obviously are), give the "Rhythmeen" album a spin. It's as down-tuned, funky and grungy as anything out of Seattle...very heavy disc. Treat it like a sonic roadtrip from New Orleans to Tijuana, while staying on the shady side of the street.

...as far as "not my style," I was actually around when grunge hit, and let me tell you, it was one of the most polarizing types of music in my lifetime....and it was as commercial as today's bubblegum pop. Many kids think it was a great, "Us against the world!" moment, but it was as orchestrated and "processed" as anything else.

I don't know how old you are, but you do need to expand your musical horizons--even if you want to examine the hardcore and punk bands that influenced grunge...and you should even give a "meh" band a chance...

Look, I'm pretty sure they're a great band, but I just dont thnik I'll ever come to like them really, I've heard about 3-7 of there songs from my dads CD, an honestly they just dont appeal to me.

same.... la grange is about their only song i can tolerate

I love 'She's Just Killing Me' from the From Dusk Til Dawn soundtrack. Maybe Riley and Floyd will change their mind when they here Dave Grohl is a huge fan of theirs and jams live with them a lot. As does Duff McKagan, another Seattle head.

Floyd it was a joke. I honestly dont give a toss what you like or what is important to you, especially if you cant recognise something as a joke. Even when its stated as being such.

No more than a bit of flippant humour.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
In fact most of the Deguello album. It reminds me of Germany in the
early eighties. A friend of mine from LA invited me back to his house
to have dinner with his german wife and himself.
Afterwards he played me the Deguello album, it was my first introduction to ZZ Top and it blew me away.
One of those moments I've always remembered.
