Mine is a name I have a love/hate relationship with that my family has called me since i was knee high to a grasshopper... and it is in reference to my name, Blair.

Funny, everytime someone posts, very rarely does anyone spell it correctly

I also have it on my car license plate which I recieved as a gift a couple years ago

I have been called Nonni my whole live (except for a brief time during Eurorail when I asked Americans to call me Johnny, simple because they somehow managed to butcher Nonni). Nonni kind of means the same thing as Johnny, as it is the nick for the Icelandic name Jón (pronounced Yon) wich is the same as John.

Both my middle name and my last name start with G's and that is the reason for the G in my forum nick.

Actually, it was given to me by a neighborhood friend I went to high school with. See, I was one of those types whom you didn't have to dare to do anything as I probably already did it unprompted as a matter of routine. So, one day this friend declared that I, due to one of my [then] most recent antics "was gone and out of this world". He said I "had to be from outer space" and began calling me "Martian". Within a few days, the whole school and neighborhood was calling me that.

Whenever this one comes up I take the opportunity to explain my name for anyone who gives a damn - probably no one.

My father has a name which nobody can spell and nobody can pronounce, so he kindly decided to do the same to his son. Thanks, dad.

Ceri is the Welsh version of the Irish name Kerry - and that is how it is pronounced. But nobody gets that right, and it can also be used with the same spelling for a guy or a gal. Oh, what pleasure my school years were...

I use this stupid name here because I signed up, entered the Forum - and only then discovered that most others had given themselves nifty usernames. Can't blame my father for that mistake - that was all my own work.

Anyhow. These days I quite like that people here address me by my real name - even if they are saying it wrong in their heads. Sigh...
